Iveta’s Denunciation

Reference
OZ/PERS/49

Date
1949

Status
CLASSIFIED: JANUS-3

A purported denunciation of Ozols by his wife Iveta, long cited in accounts of his disappearance. The archive holds a translation of a photocopy of a transcript of a document no researcher has reported seeing.

To the appropriate authority.

My husband Valdis keeps notebooks whose contents are not historical. He writes accounts of machines which do not exist and institutions which, he says, do.

He laughs while writing official histories and becomes serious while writing jokes.

He has accused three colleagues, two neighbours and one Polish writer he has not met of stealing ideas from him.

I do not know whether these activities are political. I know only that they are exhausting.
