Exchange Your Data

Exchange Your Data examines a plausible bargain in future healthcare: shorter waits, better prediction and more personalised treatment in return for broader access to personal data.

The project uses speculative appointment systems, consent forms and public information campaigns to explore how such exchanges might become normal. A patient may be offered an earlier consultation if they contribute historical records, continuous sensor data or permission for future reuse.

None of these propositions requires coercion in the conventional sense. Their power comes from scarcity. We ask what meaningful consent looks like when the alternative is waiting, and how quickly voluntary data donation can become an expected condition of receiving care.
