MetaCampus Archive

Documents from universities that do not exist

The MetaCampus Archive collects fragments from imaginary universities: prospectuses, policies, reviews, disciplinary records, campus novels and abandoned interfaces.

Rather than predict a single future, the archive accumulates incompatible ones. Some universities are almost entirely artificial. Others preserve human teaching as a luxury. Some automate governance in the name of fairness; others reconstruct dead academics because students prefer them to the living.

The archive is a design-fiction instrument. By making institutional futures concrete enough to browse, it allows arguments about AI and education to happen through particular objects, decisions and absurdities rather than through general claims about “the future of learning”.
