The Patient Teacher

The Patient Teacher explores a deceptively attractive proposition: what changes when a tutor never becomes tired, irritated, distracted or impatient?

The study begins with personalised systems used by learners who find conventional classrooms difficult, including students who benefit from repetition, predictable interaction or control over pace. It then follows the idea further. If inexhaustible patience becomes technically possible, does ordinary human teaching begin to look deficient?

Prototypes deliberately avoid humanoid robots. They use familiar screens, voices and classroom objects to investigate attention, repetition and trust. The project asks what forms of care are genuinely improved by consistency, and what is lost when patience becomes a technical property rather than a human achievement.
